Evergreen Staff Spotlight

🌟 Celebrating the People Who Make Our Schools Work 🌟

Meet Lori Weber – Speech & Language Educational Assistant, Riverton Early Middle School

Lori Weber’s journey with Evergreen began as a parent when her oldest child started school in 2009. From serving on the Parent Advisory Council, to volunteering in classrooms, to subbing as an Educational Assistant, Lori has steadily expanded her role in the division. In 2020, she became a full-time EA and Junior Kindergarten Instructor, and today she serves as the Speech and Language Educational Assistant at Riverton Early Middle School.

Her inspiration to work in education comes from her own childhood struggles with reading. “I was helped by a patient and kind volunteer who built my confidence as a reader,” Lori recalls. “I strive to be that caring helper to each student I work with and to help them achieve their learning goals.”

In her current role, Lori spends much of her day helping students with speech articulation. “I never realized how much goes into making a single sound — like ‘r,’” she says. “Where your tongue needs to go, how to form it — it’s fascinating.” Working closely with Evergreen’s Speech-Language Pathologist, she helps students meet individualized goals, one sound at a time.

The most rewarding moments for Lori are when students succeed after struggling. “Seeing a child finally say a sound correctly in words and conversation brings so much joy,” she shares. “The pride and confidence it gives them is priceless.”

For Lori, the people make Evergreen special. “We have such a great group of supportive and encouraging staff and amazing students who bring a smile to my face each day.”

She also values what public education makes possible: “It allows every child to access education and the resources they need. The little steps we take in learning each day make a big impact on a lifelong learning journey.”

Thank you, Lori, for your compassion, dedication, and for helping Evergreen students find their voice and their confidence.
