Board Highlights | March 24, 2026
At tonight’s Board meeting, trustees celebrated learning, leadership, and the collective commitment that moves our community forward.
Trustee Mosher congratulated the Evergreen team for their presentation with the Signal Education Research Network, highlighting Dr. Sinclair’s powerful reflection that Evergreen is “obsessed with learning!” Mosher also shared her excitement about Dr. Groshell joining us and celebrated the passing of a strong and thoughtful budget.
Trustee Yorga reflected on Dr. Groshell’s message that education requires a sense of urgency, because our children and communities depend on it. She expressed pride in how this sense of urgency is evident in the staff’s approach to our Literacy priority and in the Board’s advocacy for structured literacy across the province.
Trustee Helgason celebrated the panel discussion and the meaningful connection between our quantitative data and qualitative experience. She spoke to the importance of staff working conditions and reflected on Niigaan Sinclair’s message about the currency of hope and its role in well‑being. This hope, she noted, is embodied in our Leadership Development Cohort, whose members donate their own time—without compensation—because they want to do their very best for children, strengthening staff collaboration and social‑emotional learning.
Trustee Kohler acknowledged the passing of a reasonable and responsible budget that prioritizes resources for staff and supports positive learning conditions for students.
Together, tonight’s discussions highlighted the power of urgency, hope, and shared responsibility in advancing learning and well‑being for all.
