Enviro Club

Gimli High School Enviro Club

The Enviro Club has been a very active group for many years. We meet during lunch hours on Wednesdays and will schedule more meetings as necessary to plan/take part in events. Students involved are from grade 9 – 12 and everyone is welcome to join at any time or for a particular event or project. Ms. Arnbjornsson is the advisor, and our major annual activities include the Eat Lower on the Food Chain Dinner – a community event with exceptional food and entertainment by GHS students and staff, and Envirothon – an amazing provincial competition in which we have participated at the provincial level since 1998!

Each year we try to partner with younger students from SSES, DGJMS, or members of the community to complete a town clean-up.

The past few years, our project focus has been creating a green space in the bus-loop and providing the community/school with information about our school's wetland.

A proposed focus for the club is "educating others" and the creation of "legacy projects" for graduating classes.  Stay tuned for more info!
