EAGLE – Evergreen Aboriginal Group of Leaders in Education

EAGLE targets grade 9-12 students eager to enrich their knowledge of Indigenous culture. Students have partnered to establish an Aboriginal presence in Evergreen School Division. This Divisional committee is inclusive for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal students to join. Partner schools include: Gimli High School, Riverton Collegiate and Arborg Collegiate.

Students choose projects and activities to highlight the Indigenous culture and perspective. Examples include sharing circles, dream catchers, reconciliation, role models, storytelling, traditional games, field trips, leadership opportunities and more. EAGLE students are engaged in activities and projects based on the Seven Teachings. Members choose Indigenous issues to focus on for the school year based on group interest.
