Principal's Message

Hello everyone, and welcome to the 2025–2026 school year!

It is a joy to welcome you to Arborg Early/Middle School, a Kindergarten to Grade 6 school which educates around 200 students. My name is Mrs. Jessica Vandersteen, and I’m excited to begin my second year at AEMS, this time as principal!

I’ve been part of Evergreen School Division for the past 10 years, serving in a variety of roles as a classroom teacher, student services teacher, and administrator. Having been born and raised in Arborg and attending both Arborg schools myself, the chance to return and serve in my hometown elementary school was an opportunity I simply couldn’t pass up.

One of the things I’ve always been most proud of is the incredible support the Arborg community shows for one another. That same spirit of care and dedication is alive and well within our school. Evergreen School Division believes in the following vision and mission statements, learning today to improve tomorrow, and engaging students in learning to become contributing citizens of a democratic society. The staff at AEMS are deeply committed to the vision and mission statements above by engaging students in meaningful and enriching learning experiences each day. We support our students not only with their academic growth, but also with their social and emotional well-being by encouraging them to explore, take risks, and celebrate their successes in a safe and caring environment.
