Enviro Club

Gimli High School Enviro Club

The Enviro Club has been a very active group for many years.  We meet during lunch hours on Wednesdays and will schedule more meetings as necessary to plan/take part in events. Students involved are from grade 9 – 12 and everyone is welcome to join at any time or for particular events or projects. Advisors are Ms. Arnbjornsson, Ms. Anderson and Mrs. Komar.  Our major annual activities include the Learning Garden which provides produce for our cafeteria and supports science and math programming, the Eat Lower on the Food Chain Dinner – a community event with exceptional food and entertainment by GHS students and staff, and Envirothon – an amazing provincial competition in which we have participated at the provincial level since 1998!  Our annual participation in the national Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup will see us partnered with younger students from SSES and members of the community.

A proposed focus for the club is "educating others" and the creation of "legacy projects" for graduating classes.  Stay tuned for more info!
